Hello All,

I have searched all over the net and looked all through this forum but haven't been able to find out an answer.

I need to purchase a larger CF card and I prefer SanDisk. My question is... What is the fastest card that the Canon G3/G5 can really use. Will the camera really be able to write to the Ultra or Ultra II cards faster than the standard cards. No sense in paying for a faster card ( Ultra or Ultra II ) if the camera will not write to it any faster than it does a standard card. Downloading my pictures to a computer are not a concern. I really don't care how long it take. It just gives me time to drink a barley pop.

Thanks!

The price difference is not all that wide between the slower and faster Sandisk cards if you "shop around." It may not make a lot of difference to the speed oft he camera but if you ever get an external USB 2.0 card reader it will make a HUGE difference in the speed at which it can copy data from the card. The original red and blue colored Sandisk cards are real turtles speedwise compared to today's Ultra II cards.

Steve,

Thanks for the response. But, will the camera really use the higher speed card?

Thanks,

August
