Canon S1 supports CF type 2. Does that automatically mean it supports Fat-32, as required by thelarge capacitycf cards?

No. Microdrives are type 2 (which designates the cards physical thickness) & only the newer models support Fat 32.

Guess it's another case of the salesman not knowing what he was selling. The guy at Tiger Direct said all the new high capacity cf cards are type 2. Anyway, i ordereda 1GBcard along with the camera from "click for digital". They should work together & if not i should be able to get resolution. Thanks for your help. Sure looking forward to learning how to use it.

For what its worth, I have 2 1G CF cards and they are both type 1. So yes, that sales person didn't know what they were talking about.
