Tried that - still nothing.

I can only open the scanner camera wizard, by right clicking the actual drive and selecting autoplay from there.

Something is corrupt in your Registry then. Are you sure that the Autoplay is checked in TweakUI for your card reader? This is directly updating the Registry entry for the reader.

Then, using Windows Explorer, right click on the drive, and select Properties, then select the Autoplay tab and make sure you have the desired options set there and click apply:

If this does not work, you can try this utility (but it's doubtful it will help anything):

You could also try some of the Registry Utilities designed to remove invalid entries to see if they may help (but use these at your own risk):

Like I said, it's doubtful that it would help anything.

Chances are, it's trying to use the wrong driver (the one you loaded from CD that was probably Win '98 specific), or your registry is simply hosed up when you did the system restore.

You may want to try contacting the manufacturer to see if they have any suggestions.

ok Thanks for all your help, it was really appreciated.

At least I canautoplay from the drive instead of using power from the camera.

Thanks again
