Default 6 in 1 Travel Flash

Help. When I try to boot with Travel Flash attached to my USB my PC is looking for a CD to boot. If I connect it after the PC boots everything is ok.

I'm running Win98SE.

It sounds like Win98 has not registered the Travel flash, or has at some stage offered choices of 'add new hardware' and there is an extra generic CD rom in your hardware property list. This may have the next drive letter assigned to it. Check whats listed in your hardware sytem properties and corresponding drivers.

If you've got a CD drive, check properties and force it to use the next available drive letter, e.g 'D' , Travel Flash drives should then be assigned E,F etc.

Some motherboard BIOS's and drivers had prob's with USB - check for updates.

If you remove the Travel Flash software, is the reader discovered as a 'remote drive' when plugged into the usb port?.
