Hi,

I have a USB cf card reader, Could anybody tell me if it is necessary to eject the media with a right click on the drive icon and selecting eject, OR is it ok to just pull the card out (providing it isn't being accessed).

Thanks

I have card readers at home and at work. I can just pull the card out of the one at home (a SanDisk CF/SD reader) when the light stops flashing and there's no problem, but the one at work (a PNY SD/MMC reader) would prefer to be "ejected." If I wait a while after transferring files with the PNY, I can just pull the card, but I never quite know how long to wait.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Take a few test pictures and transfer them to your PC, then wait for the light to go out and pull the card. Check the pictures, and if none of them are corrupt, you probably won't have to eject. I've lost pictures by pulling the card too soon.

Important...it's better to use the software "Eject" method if only to make sure that all activity is 100% finished!!!
