This is a relatively new card which was purchased soley for use in a Digilux 2. Each time when I try to download files from this card using the USB card reader (XP Op System), I get a "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" error message. I have formatted the card in the camera to no avail and this has not happened with other SD cards (Panasonic and Ultra II) used with this camera and the same card reader. My only remedy is to download the photos from the card while it remains in the camera. Any thoughts or ideas on what the problem may be when using the card reader?

Thanks in advance,

I got a report from Sandisk support that the new Sandisk cards need new card readers, the old ones wont work. You need buy a new card reader (USB 2.0)

I had a similar problem and I was in jeopardy of losing my holiday pictures. They displayed on the camera (Lumix) but I couldn't download them (Sandisk ultra II 512). I remembered an old dos trick for file structure problems ... chkdsk. I ran chkdsk /F [drive name for SD].

1. Go to start menu,click on"Run"

2. Type "command" in window

3. At prompt, type "chkdsk /F d:"

You are in danger of losing some (or all) files. I lost some pictures but was able to access all but 4/90. A fix this time, I don't know what the real problem is though.

Good luck!

What kind of Sandisk card is it, I have one for my PDA and do not have any problems reading with 2 different card readers? Mine is a plain Sandisk 1GB.
