Hey everyone, I just bought a Canon Powershot A400 and was wondering if it could make use of those high-speed Ultra II Cards.

Also, I'm in the market for a memory card, but don't know what size I should buy. Keep in mind that I want lots of memory but do not want to spend a lot of money (nothing over 50 bucks) on a card. Any advice would be appreciated

yes. it just won't use anywhere near the transfer speed capability that the card is capable of. the limits in the camera in this case.

Are you saying it wouldn't be worth buying an Ultra II card for my A400? What benefits would it give me exactly?

yep.
Your A400 just can't take enough pictures per second so that the card would have to be extra fast in writing.

I guess you won't have speed issues with a normal CF card.

Ultra or High Speed cards are just useful for fast dSLR used for sports photography where you need a high framerate of pictures and a card which can save those pictures as fast.

you would have a lifetime warranty and be somewhat futureproofed if you decided to go to a Dslr type camera like a D70 or Drebel.
