Hi there,

I'm looking for a relatively cheap SD card, but i'm not sure if brand is everything in this department.

I'm considering this Tekq http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....871808448&rd=1

and this Toshiba http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....871891219&rd=1

The TekQ (10MB write speed) comes to $80 inc shipping while the Toshiba (2MB write speed) will be $63 inc shipping. Don't mind the seemingly expensive , they're in AUD :-)

Will the Toshiba be too slow for say an IXUS 430? Is the TekQ a half reliable brand? Which one would you go for if you were in my scenario? Yes yes, I have considered the Sandisk Ultra II but it's a bit too expensive for what i'm after.

Any help will be tremendously appeciated. Thank you very much!

Cheers,
Kim.

I'm just wanting something that's fairly good value. I know that the Ultra II is the card of choice, but this SD card will probably be used in my MP3 player for now, and maybe as a second card for my future A520.

I've found this 1GB Lexar for AU$112 inc shipping.

And also this 45x PQI 1GB for AU$120 inc shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....72157&tc=photo

But also this 60x Kingmax 512MB for AU$78 inc shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....53410&tc=photo

What one would you choose out of them? Would the vanilla speed Lexar be good enough for say a 4MP camera without slowing it down drastically (say about over half a second per shot? or a continuous video shooting at 640x480?).

Thank you very much!

Cheers,
Kim.

Thanks for that. I ended up going for a 512MB Kingmax 66x SD card for AUD80 inc shipping. Might seem expensive to all you American folks, but it's not a bad price here for a 66x card. I've known Kingmax for making decent computer memory which is also why i went with them.

Cheers.
Kim.
