Default Do Compactflash Cards have write protect?

I was wondering if CF cards have a write protect tab or sticker like the SM cards have.
This way if it is write protected I would feel safer when using my card reader on my computer.
I hear a lot about corupted cards and wanted to play safe.

No, CF cards do not have write protect tabs or switches or the like.

Some cameras (Casio 3000 for sure) offer write protectection for individual photos, folders, or all. I've never used it - I don't like squinting at a little LCD any more than I have to.
