Hi all. I use SD memory cards in my camera and was woundering if you ever have to clean the metal contacts on the card, if so what do you use to clean the contacts with? Thank you for your help.

Hello Dan!

Yes always clean the "Gold" contacts with a "Lens Cleaner tissue"...before you load your Sd card into the camera slot!

For so...I never take away from the camera today I own a Panasonic Linux FZ-20 & a Fuji FinePix S9500. which use xD type, similarly golden contacts, I download my photos directly from the camera using the factory provided cable, of course after that I'm 100% sure that my batteries inside my both cameras have adequate power...to downlad all my photos to my Picasa photo software!
