I recently ordered a Magicstor 2.2 GB Microdrive CF+ card and was wondering if it'll work for my Canon S1.

thank you.

My sympathies.

Some S1 owners say that it works, with others saying that their camera locks up often with memory errors. I'd avoid them.

You'll findsome comments from Steve about Magicstor drives in these threads:

I wouldn't risk it. Also, most vendors won't let you return any kind of media that has been opened (most have a clause that it must still be shrink wrapped).

If it were my order, I'd try to cancel it.

Some quotes from two different S1 IS owners with a Magicstor drive:

Quote:
have used standard Sandisk 512 MB cards and the Magicstor drives (2.2Gb); the latter sometimes gives errors, easliy corrected by pulling the drive out and reinserting; never used the 640x480 fine, though; was told elsewhere that there is not a great deal of difference in quality between fine and normal in 640x480 mode
Quote:
It doesn't work 100% on mine. Yes I can record 640x480 Fine videos, I can shoot some pictures, but ... it hangs very often : after some minutes or around 50 pictures, its crashing dead (CF light flashing for several minutes, andcamera shuts down or display "MEMORY ERROR" ... but it works again when I put the camera back on). It can be usefull to record long videos, but buy something else for every day pictures. I think I'll sell my Magicstor and buy a 1GB memory, same price, should be enough anyway.

GAHHHHH!!, the thing is, I bought it on eBay....maybe i can negotiate, so that I pay for his final fee+listing fee, and we both leave positive feedbacks and we forget about it.

Thank you soooo very much.
