it's a great price. just watch the xfr rate both in and out of camera. this is a baseline sandisk card. they tend to be a bit on the weak side for speed. but for the money outstanding.

SJMS is Right, for most consumer cameras on jpegs quality this device would be fine... Just don't expect it to go fast in dSLRs on "motordrive" mode or raw/tiff pictures...

I cannot see very many folks buying a microdrive when solid state memory is available at about the same price.

Since $230.99 is more than I paid about a year ago (white box), I'd bet microdrive prices are due for a big drop real soon.

You're probably right with the impending release of the 2/4G... I think the xD, sD/MMC, and especially the MemoryStick($879 for 1G) folks are the ones under pressure to lower their prices now that CF is so ridiculously low!

Speed is probably an issue and I wouldn't expect this 1G Sandisk to work in an S602 for video for example, their Ultra still commands a hefty premium...

Always deals to be had---I was patient on ebay and got a 1 gig microdrive for under $200 including shipping. It was slightly used, but under DOA warranty. Works perfectly.

Monsieurms

So is this your 3rd microdrive?

Just for fun I pop in a 256M SimpleTech flash and shot a few raw pictures on the D7: 25s on average/picture vs 12s for the microdrive... I guess we can still brag about the microdrives then
