Default xD-Picture or cf card?

seeing the new 256 xD-Picture cards are out, would it be faster to use this with an cf adaptor or just buy the fastest 512 cf. comes out to be about the same $$. i have a nikon coolpix 4300, and do alot of macro shots. i curently have a 256 ulta card, which isnt that "ultra".lol
thanks

you have to realize that the camera limits the transfer rate as much as the card. most higher end cards today exceed the transfer capabilitis of even dslrs. my 3.6MB write delkin still only write at 1.8MB on a eos-ids($8000). the card can take it but can the camera deliver it?

the camera is doing quite a few things at once. its internal cpu clock cycles are rationed out on a priority basis set up in hardware and firmware.
