Default Memorysticks from other manufacturers worse than originals?

Hi!

There are several imitations of Sony's Memorystick (by Lexar, Apacer etc) that are often way cheaper than the originals.

Are there differences in quality and speed or can I buy them without risk?

Thx for replies

generally in order to manufacture a device like a memory stick lexar or any other company that chooses to make them must licence the basic technoloy from sony. this guarentees that the baseline operability of the product meets sony spec. after that the individual company may improve upon the design.

you mentioned lexar. this company is a straight up outfit. their products are generally top notch in design and execution. buying theirs would be no mistake at all.

sony is the key developer and patent holder for the memory stick
