Hello,

Would a Seagate 4Gb CF Microdrive Type II work with my Canon Rebel XT?

Thanks

The 4gb (and 6gb) Hitachi Microdrive does. I prefer it to the Segate for several reasons and mine has given no problems in over a years' use.

The Seagate should work, too, but I do not know that from any personal experience.

On edit, it was Steve's http://www.steves-digicams.com/microdrive.htmlreviews that swung me last year. There is a bit more info for you to check there now. Unlike Hitachi which provides tons of info and is consumer-friendly with help, Seagate provides none-to-little that I can find; why bother with a firm that is not up front with the info you need, making it easily available? Check out the Hitachi Microdrives first.

Seagate's hard disks have been very good in realiability in last five years so they're definitely not bad manufacturer.

Apparently it's just that Seagate has been selling these more as mass storage to other devices instead of selling them to consumers.

You're searching with wrong name...

Here's its specs and infromation including combatibity data.
