My Sandisk Ultra II blew up over the Christmas holidays. Just after removing it from my Sandisk ImageMate and sticking it back into the Panasonic FZ10 it was ball game over. I tried reformting in the camera and in the memory reader but no dice. I've got an RMA from Sandisk so they'll swap it out. My question is regarding any preferences from a reliability perspective on SD memory, especially the high-speed variety. When I buy my next one is Lexar or Sandisk or Kingston or... going to be any more or less reliable?

My personal philosophy is to stick with well known brands that make memory as their primary business. I've had the Sandisk Ultra II in the past and I have Kingston now. I think they are both fine choices. Lexar should also be a good choice.

Yeah, and work generally very lousy with Minolta's prosumers, especially Elite models.

I don't know about other makers but at least Lexar offers some kind data recovery service as part of warranty. I didn't need that, CF card just didn't allow any access (including camera trying to write) to space which had become unaccessible but in case if you have photos in card and notice you can't read them that might be valuable.
