I want to buy a SD card but know nothing about them, or what to buy, how many images I can get on a card, resolutions ,access speed and so on.

I Googled the subject and tried a couple of other search sites to see if I could read an in-depthquick study but no success, could some one point me to a site/s where I might find the answers on SD cards.

That's tough to answer since a lot of depends on the camera specs and how you'll be using it. I think I saw your post somewhere else stating that you've bought an 8mp camera. If you use the largest resolution and least compression, you'll be getting some fairly large files. You probably want at least a 512MB card which might hold about 150 pics based on 3.5MB files (just an estimate). You'll probably want to consider a high speed card given the 8mp resolution, or especially if you plan to shoot in continuous mode. Probably 50x or higher is fine. Check out Kingston Elite Pro (50x) or the Sandisk Ultra II (66x). They are reasonably priced and seem to be popular choices. I've had the sandisk and currently use the kingston. Both have been fine for me.

Hello Leonard,

Thank you for your reply, your rightI did indeed postelsewhere on this forumbutperhasp my thread was a little long.

I agree with you on the SDbrands what has surprised meis I unable to get general information off the web on the questions I asked no matter how I word them.

On the sure knowledge you pays for what you get, I shall take your advise andgo for a Sandisk Ultra II (66x)512MB card but not off e-bay, ( to many fakes ).
