I'm looking to buy a 1Gb xD picture card for a Fuji S9000 and find two different versions. One is Part# 22000001 and the other is Part# 22000501. There is about a $10 difference in price. Is there a difference in the card itself? I have not been able to find any info at the Fujifilm site or elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

The 22000001 is the Type M xD card. Strangely, the 22000501 comes up in searches on a few vendors' sites - but I fail to see it explicitlyidentified as to the type, i.e., Type M or the newer/faster Type H. Some sites show a picture with the description - they all have Type M in the picture, butI don't know if that really is the exact item, or they just use that photo for all the Fuji cards on their site. It can't be the pre-Type M because they weren't made any larger than 512MB.

Here's a suggestion: Check the pricing on the Olympus brand 1GB cards - they are the same cards, just branded as Olympus instead of Fuji - seems the Olympus cards are carried by more vendors and so may give more opportunity for price shopping.

The Olympus part numbers are 200495 (Type M) and 202032 (Type H).

HTH!

I just bought a Fuji 1 gig xd card (M) to fill the second slot in my S9000.

If you have not yet made the buy, DON'T.

The xd card will not do useable movies (while the SanDisk CF will).

My xd would not work on a SanDisk multi reader.

I had to use a direct wire (usb) from my camera to PC.
