Is it possible to use my 256MB USB flash drive to copy my photos from 128MB SD card without using my PC. For example I can connect my flash drive through the USB port of my Powershot A510 and copy photos stored in my SD card to flash drive.

thanks JimC,

Is there any other way to make transfers without using a PC like an MP3 player other than an iPod.

Some of the portable storage devices have a way to copy between memory cards (but, I don't know about a USB attached flash drive).

A PC acts as a USB host. Cameras, card readers and usb attached flash memory are only USB clients. It takes a lot more "smarts" to act as a host, recognizing mass storage compliant devices and mounting them as drives allowing reads and writes via USB.

Steve has some reviews of Portable Storage Devices (a.k.a., PSDs) here. But, most of the reviews are somewhat dated (there are many devices to choose from now).

You'd need to check each one your consider on a case by case basis to see if it allows copying between cards. But, even ifthey allow copying between cards, they may not allow you to mount a USB attached flash drive.

Here are some more examples (but, I have not used this vendor so do your own reasearch as to their credibility). If you find one you're interested in, you may want to ask about it in this forum to see if anyone else has one like it (and you'll find lots of posts in this forum on different PSDs).
