Hi Guys,

Anyone know of a good way to send hi-res images across the web?
In the past I've emailed the files, but my new ISP won't let me send files larger than 10MB (which is fine most of the time to be fair).

Need to find a way of sending larger files too though.

Any ideas?

Does gmail have no limit on attachment size?

Use FTP.

SMTP was never meant for huge file transfers. FTP was designed to do exactly that.

Find out if your friend/destination has a computer or website that will allow files to be uploaded. Or upload them via FTP to your own website and then tell your friends where they can go to download them.

Much simpler.

Sure...

Send them via http://www.yousendit.com (it's free).

All you need to do is plug in the e-mail address you want to send a large file to and then upload the file (they have a browse button you can use to find and select the file from your PC).

Then, they send an e-mail to the recipient that includes a download link. That way, you bypass any restrictions your ISP has on e-mail attachments (since the e-mails don't include the files, only a download link).

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Someone recommended this ->http://www.mailbigfile.com to me last night. Looks like a similar thing to yousendit. Used it once last night and it worked really well.

You might give Pando a try, I sent a friend a 700 MB movie file over Pando this weekend.
http://www.pando.com/beta/
As indicated it is still in beta, but it worked without any problems for me.

Someone asked about Gmail, If memory serves me I recall it being 10 MB maximum per email attachment.

Regards,
Greg Williams

If the files are very large (multi megabytes) and you have only a few of themyou should also consider bigupload.com It's not an email site, but your friend can download the files from there.
I've uploaded raw files as large as 13 MB.

You may also want to have a look at
QuickSharing.com

I haven't used it to upload yet, but have successfully downloaded several large .pdf files.

You upload, then send the link to whoever you want.

Free and limit is 500mb per file. It stays on their servers unless the file is not downloaded in the last 30 days.

Thanks guys.

Looks like there are lots of options then!

Been getting on ok with http://www.mailbigfile.com - it's just simple and quick. Will let you know if I have any problems.

Cheers.
