Hi, does anyone know if the DSC-R1 is compatible with CF Extreme III or IV cards? I called Sandisk and they told me to call Sony...neither of them knew. Maybe these cards are overkill because of the camera's small buffer? The CF Ultra II's might be the best bet? I have a cpl of MS HS Pro Duo's (2GB) but wanted the extra capacity. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

I used an 8G Sandisk Extreme III for a short time in an R1 and it seemed to work fine.

Did you find it much faster than other cards?

I didn't do any tests and I really couldn't tell if it was much faster in the R1 or not. In any case, the problem with the R1, in that respect, is its small memory buffer. I am using it in an A100 now and it definitely seems to be faster in it (judging by the length of time the card access light is on --- because the A100 has a much larger memory buffer than the R1 so it takes the pictures much faster regardless of how quickly it writes them to the CF card).
