For my new Panasonic FZ50, I bought a 2g SanDisk Extreme card and a 512 SanDisk card. I was attempting to follow the camera manual which says it needs a card with a minimum write speed of 10. I couldn't find one, so I chose this even tho the speed is 20. I thought it was no doubt overkill, but at least it would be fast and dependable. However, now my reader can't accept the card !
I'vetaken photos using a 512 regular SanDisk card and I have no problems reading that card in my Belkin 5-in-1 reader. The reader also reads the 32mg Panasonic card that came with the camera just fine. However, it won't read the new 2g Extreme card. It doesn't seem to fit into the slot, although I cannot see any difference between it and the 512 SanDisk card.
Amittedly, the Belkin card reader is from a few years back but is a 2.0 USB reader. I see that SanDisk has an Extreme card reader in its product line, but they don't have any in stock and the same is true for their dealers.
I prefer to use a card reader than using the camera to transfer images....any suggestions? Would a SanDisk 5-in-1 Image Reader be able to read this card?
