HI im interested in getting a nd400 filter for my canon 350d but i am not sure which one i need to get because they come in 49mm 52mm 55mm 58mm 62mm 67mm 72mm and 77mm. How do I know whcih one i need??

That depends on the lens you are planning on using with the filter.

The instructions or spec sheet that came with whatever lens you are using will specifiy the diameter of the end threads which the filter screws on to.

Get the same size ND filter...

If you have several lenses with different size filter diameters you can buy the filter for the largest diameter then get stepping rings to fit the smaller lenses. For example if you have a lens with a 67mm diameter and one with a 58mm you buy a 67mm filter and a 58mm to 67mm stepping ring.

The filter diameter is usually inscribed somewhere on the lens. Look for a zero with a slash through it next to a two or three digit number. The number is the filter diameter required in milimeters.
