I'm looking for a good camera bag to hold my 30D with an attached 300mm zoom, kit lens, plus small accessories. I'm looking for something less bulky for everyday carry.

You have to decide if you want shoulder bag, backpack, or beltpack. For everyday use, I have Lowepro Orion, it's a beltpack with shoulder support. It fits my Nikon D50, 70-300G, 18-55 and 50mm. It's not a holster, so it doesn't hold the camera pointing down, but I like it better than a shoulder bag or a backpack. Also, you can swing the belt pack behind or in front of you. This bag allows me to bring a camelpack or regular backpack during hiking.

Lowepro Orion.....wouldn't use anything else.

There seem to be a few different models. Which would you recommend?

I have a Lowepro Orion and a Lowepro Orion AW.
If I am not using my Lowpro backpack I mostly use only the Orion AW now.
The plain Orion soaked through on me in a few minutes of very heavy downpour at Hopewell cape.

I bought a small Lowepro Rezo 160: it seems to fill the bill for everyday walking around. I coudn't find an Orion anywhere locally.
