Default Which filter to use in bright sunshine on a beach

Have just bought a EOS REBEL 300D.
Now before I go on holiday I would like to know if any UV filter or colour filter would help for making great beach shot. Can anyone recommend which filters to use ?

Which filter will make the sand white, the sky blue etc ?

a circular polarizer will likely be the best for those beach shots.

UV/haze filters aren't as useful on digicams because the sensors are not that sensitive in that range and most have a UV filter on the sensor itself.

I use a UV filter as a 'safety' feature - it protects the front element of the lens which is nice when I'm hiking up a steep and muddy slope.

Circular polarizers are not the easiest to use properly - look on the web for a good tutorial. But they will make the sky that deep blue that you want and eliminate a lot of the glare off the water.

A word of advice - you need a circular not a linear polarizer for the auto-focus to work properly. They're the more expensive ones.
