I am new to SLR Photog. and am going to coast soon.
If I get square grad ND filter,do I need a tripod or does holder have a fix screw or such so I can hand hold?Any suggestions for a starter set to use with KM 5D and Tamron 18-200?Thanks, Marty:? |

The holders for square filters generally have sort of "pressure clips" that keep the filter tight enough to not fall out but loose enough that you can easily slide the filter to adjust the effect. You should have no trouble hand-holding a shot with this setup unless the grad filter darkens the shot enough that you can't use a fast enough shutter speed to prevent blurring due to camera-shake.
