....anyone using a manfrotto 361 shoulder brace or the bogen 3248 (same accessory) http://tinyurl.com/6mofs4d
I find no mention of 1/4 x 20 by 1/4 x20 mounting; instead the specs show 1/4 x20 AND 'secondary mount 3/8'. Because Manfrotto offer both sizes my question is, "......does the 361 shoulder brace come boxed with both a 1/4" x 20 (to camera screw) AND a 3/8" diameter screw, I am assuming it does.". I have found at least one user review where the brace to camera was 3/8; the user was put off that their camera would not fit. At 25$ this accessory gets good reviews for usage but none discuss the mounting screws or mounted devices. Manfrotto have not returned email inquiry Thanks,

Bob - old thread but wondering if you ever got one of these? I am considering getting one of these and using it with a pistol grip instead of a monopod to make a photo sniper ( http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Zenit_Photosniper ) type setup for birding and wildlife.
p.s. looks like it has been done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qid-WpOzeNI p.p.s. Bob I also found your thread in which you discuss using the stock.

....hey RA,
The shoulder brace does help me steady the monopod, but then I don't use the monopod much at all for what I now shoot so every time I do use the combo it is much like 'a' first time. In the video, the fellow mentions more than one time to buy the 3/8 to 1/4 adapter. Manfrotto includes an adapter with the brace. the catch is it is threaded onto the 1/4 stud leaving the monopod mount 3/8 as well. If you need 1/4 & 1/4 then remove the adapter from the 1/4 stud it is mount on and thread it into the mount base for 1/4 each end. Looks like a fun device to try, for me it would never get used.
