Hi, I was recently bought a memento digital photo player . The idea is that with my photos loaded into windows media player, when my computer is on ,I can pick up wirelessly my photo collections and view them any where in the house . This works well but it will not play all my photo's .At a recent party I took lots of pic's and it will play most but not all. Also I have some old B/W photo's I have scanned again it will play some but not all. I have tried going back into photoshop and resizing the offending pic's , Ive gone lower/higher resolution ,smaller /larger dimensions to no avail. Has anyone out there any idea where I am going wrong. Thanks in anticipation.:?

Would there be a file size limitation? I saw you mention changing resolution, etc.

But, you didn't mention anything about the actual file size (and if you're using jpeg, the jpeg quality/compression level slider in most image editors controls that part when you choose File, Save As and select JPEG as the image type). I'm assuming that you're using jpeg (if not, that could be the problem, as it may not support other types as well).

I'm not familiar with the product. Does it have a manual mentioning supported image types and limitations on file sizes, etc.?

How about aspect ratio (ratio of width to height)? Would you perhaps need to have the photo cropped to fit the frame?

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply Jim C ,yes I do save my images in J.Peg and there is nothing in the brochure that came with it about file sizes but I think you are right about that being the problem .However I am not sure what to do about that as I went into resizing in photoshop elements 4 and changed the amount of ppi also I changed the dimensions .I went down to 2"x1" and 72 ppi but nothing made any difference. I have not tried cropping as most of the images would not look right if I did. The Momento is made by i-mate as a wireless digital picture frame. I think I will try to contact them ,which seems a bit convoluted ,thats why I tried here first. If I find out the solutionI will come back and post it .Thanks again Jim

Are they RBG? or another color mode

What color profile are they? sRGB, Adobe RBG etc.

8 bit? 16 bit?

Make sure all this matches the ones that do work

Thanks for the reply .I have since got an answer from i-mate who make the Momento ,all they said was that the Momento plays j.pegs and giff files and suggested that I compared the photo's that played with the ones that didn't. Which I obviously have already done and could not find a difference but I did not try looking at 8 bit /16 bit.So I have taken what you suggest on board and will have another go when I can.

Thanks for the reply ,I have since had a reply from i-mate all they said was compare the ones that play with the ones that dont. I had already done that and could not find a difference but I did not think of how many bits. So I will give that a go .There must be a difference so I just have to keep looking.
