Does anyone have strong feelings towards one or the other? I have a Nikon D200 and looking into tripods, so I need to also get a remote release. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I have remote releases for all my cameras, including my Kodak (Nikon body). I don't use them often, but they are a godsend when I do need them. As for a wireless remote, if the distance between you and the camera is large, then the wireless remote would be a good choise, otherwise a 'wired' remote works fine and is probably a LOT cheaper.
