Hi, I bought myself a second hand camera and found this filter on one of the lenses. It says: B+W F pro 62 010 x1
It shows no color. Am I right by assuming it is just to protect the coated surface of the lens? Cheers, Willem |

Probably a 62mm UV filter http://www.photofilter.com/B+W/b+w_filters.htm Your assumption is probably correct.

F-Pro refers to the standard filter mount, suitable for telephoto lenses.
010 means it's a UV Protection (Haze) filter.
