Could anyone out there please recommend to me a very good brand and kind of polarizing and neutral density filter for my Canon 24-70 F2.8L and 70-200 F2.8L IS lenses?Also,could you please recommend to me a very good brand and kind of filter to protect the front glass of my lenses?

Hoya has a number of filter product lines from consumer grade to professional grade. http://www.hoyafilter.com/

A DSLR should use a circular polarizer otherwise you may have autofocus problems.

Many people suggest using a UV filter to protect the front of the lens. Other people suggest not using any filters on the lens other than polarizers, neutral density, or other special purpose filters. The arguments for or against get very heated!

You might consider getting two identical circular polarizers. Using both at the same time will give you "neutral density" from 1 EV to about 8 EV.

I put the quotes around neutral density because there's usually some red-blue color associated with polarizing filters.
