Default Remote Shutter Release

My oldest daughter has suggested I could get her a "remote" shutter release for her Canon EOS 5D Mark II for Christmas.
I have not been able to find this item on the Canon site, unless I am not looking for the correct product.
Would someone be so good as to suggest where I might find this item, either from Canon or some other source?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

There are two kinds of remote releases, wired and wireless:

B&H Photo, a site trusted by almost everyone here.. hope this gives you a starting point...

Default Remote release

I purchased this remote release from the site shown below. At $29.99 it is a good deal.

Used it a few times so far and it worked great. Distance it works at is more than adequate.

Could not see spending $60 or more and especially what Canon charges just to use this device a few times. I am sure this will last quite a while for me.

Here is where I got it from:

Take a look and see if you like it.

Try these guys. I've purchased from them on a few occasions and their stuff works great.

Default Remote Shutter Release

I would like to thank each of you who responded to my request for assistance.
Your answers were most helpful. I will be contacting the sources you provided and ordering a remote.
Happy Holidays

Sorry for dredging up an older post but it seems more appropriate than starting a new thread...

I'm guessing this Cactus Wireless Shutter Release would work with the Panny FZ35 (the specs list similar models)...? Can someone verify? Sarah, perhaps?

Thanks!

You might want to contact Gadget Infinity as they have all the voltage specs on this item. I know that a shutter release I got for my Oly SP550UZ works with every Oly I've had since then (except for the compacts) but, that's just me being a risk-taker.
