Default Good small camera bag for day trips?

Hello:

I'm looking for a good, small bag to protect my DSLR (Canon Rebel XSi) on hiking day trips. I'm using the camera with the kit lens only. I don't need any room for accessories or extra lenses, just something to protect the camera.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Shoturtle:

Sorry, I forgot to mention the bag type... a beltpack.

Lowepro makes a fanny pack that works very well for a camera and one kit lens. The old one I have is a bit small, can't take much more than that in it, but it works fine.
