Default Bags, Bags, Bags!.

I bought a new bag, when I bought my new camera. But as time went speedily by, I began to acquire filters, speedlight, and other goodies.
Over the years I have bought quite a few bags, all soon became overstuffed. And I had to add more bags.

Carrying a bag, around is a drag. You have to take it off to dig in it, you take a big chance on even sitting it down, for just a second. So I finally decided to bag the bag, I bought a Vest.
Not a ballistic looking one, but one that has medium pockets big enough for my purposes. I can already see the advantages, of this purchase very early on. I can carry what I need for the job at hand, and leave the bag holding the extras sitting at home.

I have done the same for going into events, say sporting events like NASCAR races in particular. They don't allow backpacks quite often. But vests are OK. However, I still have to travel with my gear and that's where the backpack comes in.

Agreed, bags are still good for transport. But not having to tote them around, seems really great.

Do be careful about reaching quickly inside the vest too...especially in states that allow concealed carry.

I know people who carry and they all wear vests too.

Just sayin'.. ;-)

I live in a state that allows concealed carry, with a permit. I have a permit, I do not wear a vest.

G'day kazuya

"concealed carry' is a peculiarly american thing - the carrying of a gun concealed via your clothing

Other countries around the world that do not have a gun culture do not hear of such terms - nor have the need for such laws

Regards, Phil

A vest is a good idea if you have small camera. But for those who has large DSLR, a bag is a must. You really got me thinking about getting a vest in addition to my sling bag. A sling bag is good for traveling, I still hate to reach for my bag to retrieve small items which can be stored into a vest.
