Is there any special benefit to using an intensifying filter with a digital camera? Does it do anything that I couldn't do in Photoshop?

An intensifying filter brings out contrast and saturation in warm colors, without affecting other colors,something that should be easy enough in photoshop using selective color, or in the hue/saturation dialog box. My answer is no.
