In October I start riding around the world on a small motorcycle. I can't bring a laptop with me (no way of trickle charging the battery with the bikes alternator). I'd like something like an Apacer Disc Steno that can read from a flashcard to make a cd so I can load pictures to a site from internet cafes. Who makes the most reliable one? And does anyone make one that can be recharged with solar power (ie, AA batteries)?

I'm taking a small 40-year-old motorcycle (Ducati 250cc) and vibration will be a problem. I've got a Canon A70 and thought about getting a Sony Mavica CD-350 that records to CD, but I've heard they don't handle vibration well.

The only time you have to worry about vibration is when you first initialize the CD and then later after filling the CD, finalizing it.
In both situations you have to ...must...place the camera on a level surface and NOT touch it, let it do it's thing.
Initializing the CD takes a few seconds. Finalizing can take about a minute.
I don't think you will be riding your motorcycle and finalizing at the same time.
After you fill the CD you <>>>don't<<< have to finalize before taking it out of the camera. So you just pop in anither CD and take care of them later.

I use the Addonics MFR system. It is also sold as the Microsolutions RoadStor. You can insert your CF card and it will make the backup to cd. It comes with a LION battery for when power is not available.

John

Yes I loaded the update. I went to shoot a polo match for my wife a few weeks ago. I inserted the CF card in the RoadStor and started driving back to the city. I burned 6 cds before I drove to the house. I also use it to watch movies in my computer room.
