I use a nice backpack when we go hiking and don't want to give it up with my new dslr. 2 zooms, a 150mm macro, camera body, and extra cards/batteries need to fit in the bp safely. I guess they could go in several containers, or 1 larger one.
Any suggestions?

Thanx,
Ron

Not what you want to hear, but what about a new backpack?

Thanx Norm, but your are right. I'm thinking either hard or soft lens cases and something else to hold cards, batteries, filters, and whatever else I might need.

Watching this topic...

I too am searching for a good way to safely transport my gear in my current pack (Mountainsmith Wraith).

So far I am leaning toward lens cases that clip on my belt and a chest harness for the camera with attached lens. What would be nice is a useable "cover" to protect the body and attached lens from dust, water etc while I carry it out of a padded case.
