Default pocket drive

Hi. Having trouble thinking this through. Want more storage while traveling. If I bought a pocket drive, is there any way to transfer pics from camera to drive without a computer?

Thanks!

Several devices available, see these reviews:

And there's some new ones coming soon. Apacer just announced a small, portable CD-R/W burner that runs on batteries and reads digicam flash cards.

I've lost count of the email requests I have gotten for a portable storage alternative, especially during the summer months. Most digicam users are satisfied with having just one memory card until it's time to go on vacation or take an extended trip.
LOL that's me!

Thanks so much for those suggestions! Next time I'll research this site first :-)

Default Also...

also take a look at these two new products by Nixvue...The digital album II and the digital album lite.

Nixvue just started shipping them recently so they can be a bit hard to find.

Nixvue links

where to buy(only one store so far...as far as i know):

Personally...im going to get a DA2 for my trip to the UK and Ireland this summer...just gonna wait a month or so until more stores have it....so maybe there will be a deal or something.

I just found these storage devices as well.....

The Tripper and the Super DigiBin. Had never heard of them before. Looks like the Tripper is a pretty good deal. Has anyone ever used one of these or at least heard anything about how they compare to say a Nixvue Product(i.e. DA2)?

Any info on either of these products would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Interesting! Who knew there were so many of these devices!

I'm going to try to see some at a few stores. I always like to see things in person.

Thanks.

Looks very cool. Costs $399. Has 20gb hd. Anybody have any actual experience with it?

thanks!

Anyone consider to use external USB type harddisk for photo storage? I heard that there are some pocket PDA can connect with USB type harddisk for portable use.

So ... here's my followup.

I went to CompUSA to buy the $200 device before my trip. The salesman pretty much talked me out of it, and said i could buy 5 more 128mb smartcards for the same money. (you could buy TEN cards for the price of the $400 unit)

So i had 3 cards and pretty much used 'em all, but didn't need more. I used extra because I visited a flower show, and I knew I had the capacity.

I was happy enough. Also the cards are so easy to carry.
