Default 3ccd vs 1ccd ( DS70 VS sony DCR-IP220 )

I not sure which one to buy. I ever come across a website tell what is 3CCD mean. It something abt 3 lens in differnt angle into one point. Does anyone know where the website or tell me what is 3ccd mean with picture.

I don't know which is better. come soon pananonic DS70 or sony ip220. DS70 come with 3ccd 3x540000 pixel ccd which total abt 1.7 megapixel. For sony ip220 with 1ccd 1x2000000 pixel ccd which total abt 2 megapixel. So which is better? Which is clearer? Does 3ccd still give better picture then 1 lens with big pixel?
pls help

Don't know this kit, but large 3ccd or even 4ccd in professional cams is the norm and the bees knees over single ccd sensors. Which is why they are so expensive due to both the ccd cost and the prism beam splitting and colour filtering needed.

Compare the resolution/sensitivity/noise/ colorimetry of single sensor versus 3.

PS we're mainly still cams here: Have you found a 3 ccd still cam?
