I am looking to buy my first dc and was about to buy the canon a70 when the rep suggested for not much more I could get the 5mp sony dsc p92 (because I write for the local paper & include pics). I tried to find reviews for the p92 and came accross the f717 and instantly wanted one. Then I heard sony was about to replace this model.
Is the extra $ worth spending for 5mp, and for the new f717, or should I stick with the a70. I write local travel articles and business reviews, otherwise most pics will be of my 2 toddlers. I don't want a slow shutter lag, if thats how I put it? Thanks for any advice, things seem to move so fast with dc's. |

No matter which camera, computer, printer or other high tech item you buy, the price is guaranteed to drop the next day and the item will be replaced the day after that. My son-in-law just bought the 717. I only saw it in action once, but if I had the money for one, I would jump on it. It is definately not a compact, but it is a fine camera.

I have had my A70 for a month, and I'm quite happy with it. No problem with shutter lag I think.
Other people seems very happy with the A70 too: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read...dkey=canon_a70 Read some P92-owners oppinion here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read...ey=sony_dscp92 |
