A sync connection is not necessary with this strobe. This unit as with other slave strobes fire when they detect light from the camera's main flash. The DF200 is specifically designed to work with digicams that typically fire the camera flash multiple times. I has a 'learn' mode that allows it to adapt to your specific camera by detecting and remembering the firing pattern of the camera's flash.

You may be able to use some tape over the camera's flash to diffuse the light enough to reduce any redeye effect (while still allowing enough light to trigger the slave flash). Although, do this at your own risk (as heat could potentially damage the in camera flash).
