You crop a photo to select just the part of the photo that you want to use. This is done with a photo editing program. I have used this process when I've taken a picture of someone from a distance and did not zoom in on that person. The person was sitting at a table and I did not want the rest of the room in the picture. I used the photo editing program to draw a square or rectangle around the area that I wanted and cropped that area. Then you can print out the picture and not have "extra" stuff in the picture.
