I just typed you a reply then lost it all.

I'm buying the 3700 in the next few days. I've played with it and its gr8. Does everything, point and shoot, loads of functions, best video mode around, lcd screen with 134000 pixels, light, aluminium,and more. Like one reply to you says, don't procrastinate, just buy and enjoy. You'll never get it 100% right and a new and better camera comes out every few weeks. Enjoy.

PS - Do you know what you do with storage on holidays? Buy more memory cards? Take a laptop?

i will surely get a camera very soon as my hands are itching to go and try out digital photography.

adelaide? matey, huh? i used to live there in oz, but in sydney. now based here in cali,usa. warming up here, very nice time to be out and take pics.

what about cards? i am going to maui next month, perfect time to bring a digicam! is there a special way of keeping memory cards?
