Yes, saving space on your storage media when you're in the wilds somewhere, miles from the nearest computer, and you're rapidly filling up your camera's cards and any spares with your wonderful works of art or sentimental snapshots. This happened to me on the Isles of Eigg & Muck a couple of years ago. I'd have cropped and zoomed if I could.

Alan T, Thanks, I had a feeling that could be the answer. Although, as media costs come down and they get bigger, this probably becomes less of an issue. If I was getting desperate, I might increase compression/reduce res. first.
