Hi I am looking to travel and am wondering if I buy a digital camera, is it posible to send photos through internet cafe's back home.

Yes, I was i Spain this summer. No problem.

But if you are going to Himalaya - well...

I would say it's possible from all major cities in europe! Most internet cafes have a mulitcard reader.

You major holdback with sending pics by email is the files size. One to two pics will usually be accepted by the receivers email provider. The provider that you use will also have a limit on the file size you can send. The work around is easy, just send multiple emails with only one or two pics attached. I would consider using a service such a www.pbase.com. You can load your pics here then email everyone and tell them to view the pics at the site.

Well, re-size/re-sample the images to something people can deal with on a computer screen. 640x480, maybe 800x600. Crank up the JPEG compression until you can tell the difference, then back it off a bit. This should get the file size down a great deal from the original size the camera takes (assumng you are shooting in the top resoltuion mode).
