First of all, THANK YOU ALL for your advice.

I've found an external flash that's triggered by the cameras built-in flash and it's reasonably priced (under $200 US, as opposed to the one dedicated for Canon A40 for close to $700 US :roll: ) It's SL960 External Flash and you can have a look at it at http://www.reefmaster.com/accessories/sl960.html
The only problem is the fact that it doesn't fit my camera housing. In order to attach it to the housing I'd have to .... do some drilling :lol: Technically it appears to be a rather simple task and it would place the little "light sensor" (???) right in front of my flash.

Can I do that?
Is it only a question of lining up the flash and the sensor?
