Is it possibnle to make a good focus while your zumming???

It depends on the lens - in older days of manual focus cameras most zooms hold their focus while the focal lenght is changed (parafocal). With the advance of Auto Focus manufacturers simplify their lens design and the modern zooms loose this capability (varifocal) - Canon is the most notable one at this.

Nikon, Sigma and Tokina still hold dear to this tradition ;)
