hi all

i have a s9600 that i have come close to scratching the lens on
so i think im going to have to get a uv filter for protection (its not as if i can change the lens if i do end up marking it )

could someone recommend me good filter and a place to buy them
from as i am very new to this am in sure i am missing the cheapest online shops

i think i need a safe cleaning kit for lens and filter too.

A brand-name 58mm Skylight 1A (Tiffen, Optex) is cheap ($10-$15) insurance, and won't affect exposure.

try bhphotovideo.com

I have the Fuji S9100 and had a Fuji S5200. I always use a tiffen UV Protector filter becasue I shoot fires, motor vehicles accidents and the like for fire and police. On my S5200 I droped the camera once and the filter brooke, the lens was perfect. Also its easier to clean smoke off of the filter than the lens.

also try www.tiffen.com

I have also found that I can use a lens hood with this filter attached.

Hope this helps. I would buy one asap and always keep it on the camera.
