Default i need help picking out a new cam!

i posted this in the other forum but i'm not sure where it should go so....

Here's the deal...I own an Olympus D460 camera and would like to upgrade. I would consider myself to be an intermediate camera user and would like an easy point and shoot camera with maybe a few extra features to get semi fancy here and there. I've read all of the reviews but I still like to hear peoples opinions before buying. Right now I'm looking at the Canon A80 and the Nikon Coolpix 4300. Any suggestions? Are there better cams out there then these two? Also, I'm looking to spend under $450. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

One last question...I did notice that both of these cams have 3x Optical Zoom. Is that too low for mostly basic shooting??

You may want to look at the Canon S50 as an alternatice to the A80.
