Default Megapixel Difference

Is there a great difference between a 2.1 megapixel camera and a 3.1 megapixel camera, that a novice would notice? In particular the fuji2800 and 3800?

What will be the size of prints you would print? The 3800 has some more improvements than just the 1mp difference in the camera.

If all else is equal (it never is), you will be able to print a picture 21.5% (square root of the ratio) larger in linear dimension with the 3.1Mp camera's images. Larger Mp cameras tend to have more features and quality - but not always.
